TikTok Monetization Requirements in 2026: Every Program, Every Threshold
To qualify for the Creator Rewards Program (TikTok's primary ad-revenue program) you need 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the past 30 days, a personal account, and must be 18+ in an eligible country. Videos must be at least 1 minute long.

TikTok runs six separate monetization programs in 2026, each with its own follower floor, view threshold, and country list. This page is a full eligibility reference; bookmark it and come back whenever you're checking your status. For a deeper look at how much TikTok pays once you're in, or a comparison of the Creator Fund vs CRP, follow those links.

Creator Rewards Program Requirements

The Creator Rewards Program is TikTok's primary ad-revenue program for video creators. It replaced the original Creator Fund in March 2024. If you're still seeing references to the old Creator Fund, those are outdated. The Creator Fund vs CRP switch matters because CRP pays significantly more per view and has stricter content standards.

CRP Eligibility Checklist

  • 10,000 followers minimum
  • 100,000 video views in the past 30 days
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Account must be at least 30 days old
  • Personal account (not a Business account)
  • Videos must be 1 minute or longer to qualify for payouts
  • Content must pass TikTok's originality standards. Reposts and stitched content from others do not qualify.
  • Account must be in good standing with no recent community guideline violations

Eligible Countries for CRP

  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • Germany
  • France
  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • Brazil
CRP is NOT available in India, Indonesia, or Pakistan. Creators in those countries are not currently eligible for ad-revenue payouts through the Creator Rewards Program, regardless of follower count.

What Content Qualifies for CRP Payouts

Not every view counts. TikTok uses a "qualified views (see qualified views explained)" metric that excludes low-quality engagement. To maximize qualified views, your videos should be original, at least 60 seconds long, and earn meaningful watch time, shares, and comments. TikTok does not differentiate CRP rates by niche — the $0.40–$1.00 per 1,000 views rate is flat across all content categories.

TikTok LIVE and LIVE Gifting Requirements

LIVE gifting is the lowest barrier monetization option on TikTok and is available in far more countries than CRP. Viewers send virtual gifts during your livestream; you convert those gifts to cash through TikTok's Diamond system.

LIVE Eligibility Checklist

  • 1,000 followers minimum
  • 18 years of age or older to receive gifts
  • Account in good standing, no recent community guideline strikes
  • Personal account type
  • Available in most markets where TikTok operates

LIVE is worth activating as soon as you hit 1,000 followers. See the full TikTok monetization guide for strategies on building a loyal LIVE audience.

TikTok Shop Affiliate Requirements

Shop Affiliate Eligibility Checklist

  • 5,000 followers minimum (United States)
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Linked payment method on file
  • Personal account (not Business)
  • Account in good standing
  • Available in the US, UK, and select Southeast Asian markets
TikTok Shop commissions are typically 5–20% per sale, which means a single viral product video can earn far more than months of CRP ad revenue. Many creators with under 50,000 followers report Shop as their primary income source.

TikTok Series Requirements

TikTok Series allows you to put collections of videos behind a paywall. Viewers pay a one-time fee ($1–$190) to access the full Series. It works best for tutorial-heavy or educational niches where viewers are willing to pay for structured content.

Series Eligibility Checklist

  • 10,000 followers minimum
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Account in good standing
  • Content must meet TikTok's community guidelines
  • Account at least 30 days old
  • Available in 94 countries

TikTok Pulse Requirements

TikTok Pulse is an advanced ad-revenue sharing program where TikTok places brand ads alongside top-performing content. It pays more than CRP but requires a much higher follower count and is limited to select markets.

Pulse Eligibility Checklist

  • 100,000 followers minimum
  • Personal account required (not Business)
  • Content must land in the top 4% of daily engagement to trigger Pulse placement
  • Available in select markets, primarily the United States
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Account in good standing

Pulse eligibility is largely passive. Once you meet the follower threshold in a supported market, TikTok automatically places Pulse ads on qualifying videos. You see a Pulse indicator in your creator analytics when a video is included.

TikTok Creator Marketplace Requirements

Creator Marketplace Eligibility Checklist

  • 10,000 followers minimum
  • 100,000 video views in the past 28 days (required in some markets)
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Account in good standing
  • Available in 24+ countries
  • Completed payout/payment information

Brand deal rates through the Creator Marketplace vary widely by niche, audience size, and engagement rate. For a breakdown of realistic rates by follower thresholds, see our dedicated guide.

Common Reasons TikTok Monetization Applications Get Rejected

  • Business account type: all monetization programs require a Personal account. Switch in Settings > Manage Account > Switch to Personal Account.
  • Account age under 30 days: newly created accounts are automatically ineligible even with high follower counts.
  • Recent community guideline violation: a single strike in the past 30 days can block approval.
  • Low originality score: TikTok's algorithm flags accounts that heavily repost, use third-party watermarks, or rely on slideshow-style content.
  • Mismatched country: your account's registered location must match an eligible country. VPN use during signup can cause a mismatch.
  • View count includes ineligible views: views from videos under 60 seconds don't count toward your 30-day threshold.
  • Incomplete payment information: missing banking or tax details will block final activation even after approval.

How to Check Your TikTok Monetization Eligibility Right Now

  • Step 1: Open TikTok and tap your Profile icon in the bottom-right corner.
  • Step 2: Tap the three-line menu (hamburger icon) in the top-right corner.
  • Step 3: Tap "Creator tools" or "Settings and privacy" → "Creator tools."
  • Step 4: Tap "Monetization." You'll see programs with green checkmarks (eligible) or gray locks (not yet eligible).
  • Step 5: Tap any locked program to see exactly which requirement(s) you still need to meet and your current progress.
TikTok updates your eligibility status in real time. Once all requirements turn green, an "Apply" or "Join" button activates automatically; you don't need to manually track the numbers.

What to Do If You Don't Meet Requirements Yet

Under 1,000 Followers: Focus on Hook and Format

  • Post at minimum 3–5 times per week — consistency is the single strongest predictor of follower growth at this stage.
  • Study your analytics: which videos earned the most profile visits? Double down on that format.
  • The 1,000-follower threshold for LIVE is your first monetization milestone. Treat it as a concrete goal.

1,000–9,999 Followers — Activate LIVE and Build View Volume

  • Turn on LIVE as soon as you hit 1,000 followers. Even small streams build the habit and generate gift income.
  • Start making videos 60+ seconds long now, building qualified view history before you hit the CRP threshold.
  • Track your 30-day view rolling average weekly. You need 100,000 qualified views in 30 days.
  • Consider TikTok Shop once you approach 5,000 followers (US). It often becomes the primary income source before CRP.

10,000+ Followers: Apply for CRP and Creator Marketplace

  • If you've hit 10,000 followers but not 100,000 monthly views, prioritize content volume and hook optimization.
  • Apply for Creator Marketplace immediately. Brand deals don't require hitting CRP view thresholds in all markets.
  • Consider TikTok Series if your content has an educational or tutorial angle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does TikTok still have the Creator Fund in 2026?
No. The original Creator Fund was shut down in December 2023. It was replaced by the Creator Rewards Program in March 2024. The CRP pays significantly more per view — $0.40–$1.00 per 1,000 qualified views versus the Creator Fund's much lower rates.
Can I monetize TikTok with a Business account?
No. All of TikTok's direct monetization programs (including CRP, Pulse, Series, and Creator Marketplace) require a Personal account. Go to Settings → Manage Account → Switch to Personal Account to change your account type.
How many followers do I need to get paid on TikTok?
It depends on the program. TikTok LIVE gifting starts at 1,000 followers. TikTok Shop affiliate starts at 5,000 followers (US). The Creator Rewards Program, Series, and Creator Marketplace all require 10,000 followers. TikTok Pulse requires 100,000 followers.
Why was my TikTok monetization application rejected even though I met the requirements?
The most common hidden blockers are: (1) Business account type: switch to Personal. (2) A community guideline violation in the past 30 days. (3) Your view count includes ineligible views from videos under 60 seconds or from non-CRP countries. (4) Your account's registered country doesn't match an eligible CRP country.
Which TikTok monetization program pays the most?
For pure ad revenue, TikTok Pulse pays the most but requires 100,000 followers. For most creators between 10,000–100,000 followers, TikTok Shop commissions (5–20% per sale) often exceed CRP earnings. Brand deals through the Creator Marketplace can pay the most in absolute dollars once you have an engaged audience.
Is the 100,000 views requirement a one-time milestone or rolling?
It's a rolling 30-day window, not a one-time milestone. You must maintain 100,000 qualified views in any 30-day period to apply and to stay in the Creator Rewards Program.
How long does TikTok take to approve a monetization application?
Approval typically takes 2–5 business days for CRP and Creator Marketplace. If approved, you'll receive a notification and the program will appear as active in your Creator Tools. If rejected, TikTok usually specifies which requirement wasn't met.
